Jon Gosselin is opening up and telling all about his ex-wife Kate Gosselin. The Gosslin’s were the stars of the former reality show ‘Jon & Kate Plus 8’.
The former reality star went on “The Domenick Nati Show” on Thursday to talk about how he blames Kate Gosselin for his lack of communication with six out of his eight children. He feels Kate is the one who stopped the communication between him and his estranged children.
Jon (47) said, “Some people just can’t not be alone, so they’ll do anything or if they have the means, they’re going to sway their children or whoever is in their life to not go with the other parent.” He also added that he hasn’t talked to Kate since they were in court together in 2018. Per the custody case, Jon was awarded custody of Hannah and Collin, who are now 20.
Before his rise to fame, Jon led a relatively quiet life, working in the IT sector. His life took a dramatic turn when he and his then-wife, Kate Gosselin, joined the reality TV show “Jon & Kate Plus 8.” The show, started in 2007, focused on the Gosselins’ unique family setup. Jon and Kate have twin daughters, Cara and Mady, and sextuplets, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel.
“Jon & Kate Plus 8” quickly became a hit. The show offered a look at the Gosselins’ lives, from daily routines to special events. Jon was often seen as the laid-back counterpart to Kate’s more stringent personality. As the show went on, rumors of marital strife began to surface. The media intensely covered Jon and Kate’s relationship, leading to a highly publicized separation and eventual divorce in 2009. This period was marked by too much media attention.
After the divorce the show changed, and Jon decided to step away from the spotlight. He expressed a desire to live a more private life and focus on his children. The show name was changed to “Kate Plus 8.” In the years following his departure from reality TV, Jon worked different jobs to support his family. He held positions as a DJ, a waiter, and even returned to IT work. Jon’s post-divorce life was marked by legal battles and custody disputes with Kate.
One of the most challenging parts of Jon’s post-divorce life has been the ongoing custody battles with Kate. Jon was granted custody of two of the sextuplets, Hannah and Collin. Collin’s case drew particular attention due to his time spent in a special needs institution. Jon claimed it was unnecessary and detrimental to his son’s well-being.
